Badminton player Saina Nehwal late on Sunday, 13 July, announced her separation from her and fellow badminton player husband Parupalli Kashyap, after about six years of marriage.

She wrote on her Instagram stories: “Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap parupalli and I have decided to part ways. We’re choosing peace, growth, and healing-for ourselves and each other.
I’m grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time.”

However, Kashyap has not made any announcement so far.

While Saina made her mark with winning a bronze at the 2012 London Olympics, Kashyap won the gold at 2014 Commonwealth games.
