Skywatchers may witness a rare celestial sight on June 30 as the Moon and Mars appear unusually close during a pre-dawn conjunction. The slender crescent Moon and the reddish glow of Mars will be just 3 degrees apart, offering a striking visual spectacle.
Though millions of kilometres apart, their apparent proximity is due to orbital alignment. However, monsoon clouds may obstruct views in Bengaluru and much of India. The event is unique for its timing, Mars’ growing brightness, and the Moon’s delicate phase — making it a rare and beautiful alignment in the early morning sky.
