Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will fly to the US via Dubai on Saturday, 4 July, for a follow-up medical treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

“He will be there for about ten days,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement.

His trip comes amid mounting criticism of the state’s health sector. Protests are growing, demanding Health Minister Veena George’s resignation. The demand became strong, specifically after the collapse of a part of a building at the Medical College Hospital in Kottayam, killing a woman.
