DRDO successfully tests indigenously developed Pralay missile

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted two back-to-back flight-tests of the indigenously developed Pralay missile on 28 and 29 July, from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.

In a release, the DRDO said the tests validated both maximum and minimum range capabilities.

“The missile hit targets with pinpoint accuracy,” it added.

Developed with support from multiple DRDO labs and industry partners, Pralay is a solid-propellant, quasi-ballistic missile capable of carrying varied warheads.

“Two consecutive flight trials of ‘PRALAY’ missile was successfully carried out on 28th and 29th July 2025 as a part of User Evaluation Trials to validate the maximum and minimum range capability of the missile system. The missiles precisely followed the intended trajectory and reached the target point with pin-point accuracy meeting all the test objectives,” it said in a post on X.
