A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) head constable died after falling from a moving suburban train at Chennai Beach railway station on the evening of Sunday, 6 July.
The deceased, identified as 42-year-old P Vignesh, was posted at Kalpakkam and had just completed his duty.
According to the railway police, Vignesh was trying to get down from the train before it came to a complete halt and suffered a severe head injury. Passengers and railway staff rushed to assist, but he was declared dead on the spot.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Chennai Beach have registered a case and launched an investigation. Officials are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses to establish the exact sequence of events.
