UDF convener Adoor Prakash is expected to travel to Delhi on October 5, to raise concerns with the Congress High Command regarding Chief Minister V.D Satheesan’s style of functioning and alleged lack of cooperation with the party.

According to sources, Prakash is likely to submit a letter alleging that the CM is taking major decisions without adequate consultation with the party or the UDF.

He may also meet Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.

KPCC chief and Minister Sunny Joseph will also be in Delhi for a meeting of PCC chiefs. He is expected to meet the AICC leaders and discuss the latest developments.

Sources told South First that the high command may consider setting up a coordination panel to improve communication between the government and the party.

The Satheesan camp, meanwhile, is considering seeking disciplinary action against Prakash over his public criticism.

Leaders supporting the CM see the developments as part of a coordinated move against him.

They allege that Prakash did not act independently and had the backing of leaders, including Deepa Dasmunsi.

Dasmunsi had raised concerns over the lack of coordination between the government and the party at the recent PAC meeting. She has also been in touch with Prakash and is expected to submit a report to the high command.

The Satheesan camp has rejected Prakash’s claim that he acted on his own and has also dismissed K.C Venugopal’s statement that he had no role in the developments. They see the move as the beginning of an attempt to destabilise the government and argue that Prakash’s public criticism amounts to a breach of party discipline.

They are likely to convey this position if the high command seeks their views.

Sources claimed that more leaders are expected to approach the high command with complaints.
