Two Malayali nurses among five killed in Saudi road accident
The deceased Keralites have been identified as Jaisymol Mathew (46) of Ayarkkunnam, Kottayam, and Jobina John of Anacherinjakkunnel, Kurumulloor, Kottayam.
Two Malayali nurses were among five people killed when a car overturned on the Taif-Rania road in Saudi Arabia’s Makkah province.
The deceased Keralites have been identified as Jaisymol Mathew (46) of Ayarkkunnam, Kottayam, and Jobina John of Anacherinjakkunnel, Kurumulloor, Kottayam.
The other Indian victims were Vijayalakshmi Jagadeesh (37) of Anna Sathya Nagar, Tamil Nadu, and Hepsiba Devamani (33) of Anthoniyar Street, Pattukottai, Thanjavur. Both were nurses.
The fifth victim was the Saudi national who was driving the car.
The accident occurred about 40 km from Rania when the vehicle reportedly lost control and overturned. All five occupants died in the accident.
According to Matrubhumi report, all of them were employed at the Al-Ghafa and Al-Awaila clinics in Taif Governorate and had travelled to Rania on their day off for shopping and other activities.
The bodies are currently being kept at Ranyah General Hospital. Procedures will be completed before the bodies are transported to their hometowns in India.
