Synopsis: Popular Malayalam film reviewer Aswanth Kok was arrested by Eranhippalam police on Monday after his Mahindra Thar allegedly hit three vehicles near Eranhippalam Junction in Kozhikode, injuring four people. Local residents stopped the SUV and alerted the police after noticing that the driver appeared to be intoxicated. Kok was taken to Kozhikode Beach Hospital for a mandatory medical examination to determine his alcohol level.
Popular Malayalam film reviewer Aswanth Kok was arrested by the Eranhippalam police on Monday, 28 September after his Mahindra Thar allegedly hit three vehicles in Kozhikode, Keralam injuring four people. Kok is known for his commentary on the Malayalam film industry and has a substantial following on social media.
Police said the SUV hit a car and a two-wheeler, among three vehicles, near Eranhippalam Junction. Local residents stopped the vehicle and alerted the police after noticing that the driver appeared to be intoxicated.
A police team from Nadakkavu station reached the spot and took Kok into custody following an altercation during the detention. The SUV was later towed to the police station.
Kok was taken to Kozhikode Beach Hospital for a mandatory medical examination to determine his alcohol level.
Further investigation is underway.
