Wayanad District Collector DR Meghasree has urged media outlets not to publish reports that create unnecessary fear among the public amid ongoing rains.
She assured that the district administration and the state government are closely monitoring the situation and fully prepared to handle any emergency.
The Collector highlighted that rainfall data is being collected from across the district, with dam and river levels under constant watch.
Officials are being given timely instructions, and the disaster management team remains fully active.
All official alerts and warnings will be issued only through the Information Department.
The Collector also warned of strict legal action against those obstructing government officials or spreading false information that could harm public safety and affect the tourism and business sectors.
