Rescue operations underway after deadly rock fall at Chengulam quarry in Pathanamthitta
Rescue efforts are ongoing at the Chengulam quarry in Konni, where one person remains missing following a rock fall incident that injured two individuals on Saturday. One body was recovered yesterday, while search teams continue working to locate the second person.
Rescue operations are being hampered by dangerous rock formations and adverse weather conditions, officials said. To accelerate the efforts, a more advanced crane is being brought in.
Authorities have restricted access to the site, allowing only rescue personnel and officials inside the quarry to ensure public safety.
