Synopsis: Playback singer Alka Yagnik also received the Padma Bhushan, while actor-filmmaker R Madhavan and Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma were among those honoured with the Padma Shri.
President Droupadi Murmu awarded the Padma Bhushan to leading Malayalam actor Mammootty at the second Civil Investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday, 23 June.
Mammootty’s family, wife Sulfath, son and actor Dulquer Salmaan and daughter Surumi, were present when the President awarded Mammootty the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award after the Bharat Ratna, and Padma Vibhushan.

The awards recognise exceptional contributions in fields including arts, sports, science, literature and public service.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other dignitaries attended the event.
Mammootty has acted in more than 400 films across multiple languages, and is one of India’s finest actors. He had been honoured with the Padma Shri in 1998.
