“The National Centre for Oceanographic Studies and Research (INCOIS) has informed that there is a possibility of sea erosion due to waves of 1.5 to 1.8 meters high tomorrow (03/08/2025) from 05.30 pm to 08.30 pm on 04/08/2025, as part of the kallakadal phenomenon, in the coasts of Thiruvananthapuram (from Kappil to Pozhiyur), Kollam (from Alappat to Edava), and Alappuzha (from Chellanam to Azhikkal Jetty),” KSDMA said in its release.
“Landing fishing vessels at times of high tide and rough seas is just as dangerous as launching them into the sea. Therefore, landing and takeoff should be avoided during periods of strong waves,” it added.
The KSDMA has also urged the public to stay alert to possible strong winds and adverse weather conditions.
