Kerala-based trans couple have been blessed with a child

Both the baby and Zahad, her partner who delivered the child, are doing well, Paval added.

However, the trans person declined to reveal the gender identity of the newborn and said they did not want to make it public right now.

Ziya Paval recently took to Instagram and announced that Zahad was eight months pregnant.

First transman pregnancy in the country

“We are about to realise my dream of becoming a mother and his dream of becoming a father. An eight-month-old foetus is now in (Zahad’s) belly… From what we came to know, this is the first transman’s pregnancy in India…,” Paval had said in the Instagram post.

Paval and Zahhad have been together for the past three years.

According to the Instagram post, Zahad was undergoing hormonal therapy and had done breast removal surgery.

“My dream of becoming a mother, his dream of being a father and a desire of our own brought us to one thought. Today eight months old life moves in his belly with full consent, wrote Ziya on Instagram.

According to reports, they took the decision about one and a half years ago and Zahad’s hormonal treatment was stopped temporarily for that.

Even though he had undergone several surgical procedures for gender reaffirmation, the uterus and related organs were not removed, which made the pregnancy possible.

Zahad is working as an accountant in a supermarket and Ziya is a dancer.
