Synopsis: The matter came to light when the boy’s mother spotted one of the accused. She immediately approached Chandera police with a complaint. The boy was later presented before Childline, where his statement revealed that he had been facing sexual abuse for nearly two years.
A shocking case has emerged under the Chandera police station limits in Kasaragod, on Tuesday, 16 September, where a minor boy was allegedly abused by several people, including a politician, a senior education department official, and RPF personnel.
Police have so far arrested eight individuals, while a POCSO case has been registered against 14 accused in total.
Since five of the accused are from outside the district, their cases have been transferred to the respective police stations.
According to investigators, the accused had trapped the 16 year-old through a dating app and took him to different locations within and outside the district, where he was subjected to sexual abuse.
Those involved are said to be from Kasaragod, Kannur, and Kozhikode.
