As a prelude to its state conference scheduled from 8 to 12 September, the CPI will hold a centenary celebration conference in Vayalar in Kerala on 19 August, commemorating the death anniversary of party stalwart P Krishna Pillai.
The event will be inaugurated by CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam, with Revenue Minister K Rajan delivering the keynote address. The session will be presided over by Minister P Prasad.
In connection with the state conference, the party plans to organise 1,000 family gatherings across Alappuzha district. A series of thematic events has also been lined up, including a trade union seminar, a discussion on Dalit rights, a youth conclave, and seminars on topics such as ‘Pluralism and Fascism’, ‘National Education Policy: Implications and Alternatives’, and ‘The Current State of Secularism’. A media seminar is also on the agenda.
Minister P Prasad, who also heads the organising committee, announced that the initial phase of fundraising — conducted through traditional hundi collections among party workers —has already generated around ₹50 lakh.
