Centre releases ₹1,066.80 Cr for flood relief; Kerala receives ₹153.20 Cr ahead of Amit Shah visit
Just hours before Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to Kerala, the Centre on Thursday announced the release of ₹1,066.80 crore in flood relief assistance to six states, including ₹153.20 crore for Kerala.
The funds were disbursed under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to states severely affected by this year’s monsoon. Other beneficiaries include Assam (₹375.60 crore), Uttarakhand (₹455.60 crore), Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Manipur.
Shah’s Kerala visit includes inaugurating the BJP’s new state office in Thiruvananthapuram and addressing party workers at Putharikandam Ground. He is also expected to visit Raja Rajeswari Temple in Kannur before returning to Delhi on July 12.
