Synopsis: Police have registered a murder case against the accused. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and further investigation is underway.

A 29-year-old woman from Assam was allegedly beaten to death by her husband following a domestic dispute at their rented house in Perumbavoor near Kochi on Sunday, 28 June night.

The deceased, Narseena Khatun of Nagaon district, Assam had been living with her husband, Rabul Amin, and their three-year-old child.

According to police, the couple had a history of frequent quarrels.

During an argument, Amin allegedly struck Narseena on the head with a wooden plank or another blunt object, causing fatal injuries.

Neighbours alerted the police on Monday morning, following which Amin was taken into custody from the house.

Police have registered a murder case against the accused. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and further investigation is underway.
