Army pays tribute to Kargil hero Santhosh Kumar at his Idukki home

As part of the ‘Ghar Ghar Shaurya Samman’ initiative on Kargil Vijay Diwas, a team of Army personnel from the Kargil sector visited the home of Lance Naik Santhosh Kumar in Idukki to honour his sacrifice. Santhosh Kumar, who took part in key missions like Operation Pawan (1987), Operation Rakshak (1994), and Operation Vijay (1999), was martyred during the Kargil War.

Led by Naib Subedar N Kingslin and Regiment Havildar Major KK Rajeesh, the Army team presented a citation and plaque to his wife, KG Priya. A ceremonial lamp was lit, and floral tributes were offered before his photograph, placed on a decorated platform outside the house.

Honorary Captain Somarajan from the Ernakulam Sainik Collective, Retd Major Ambili, and local panchayat member Bindu George addressed the gathering.
