Bengaluru was shaken by the brutal murder of vlogger Maya Gogoi, whose body was discovered in a service apartment in Indira Nagar.
Maya, originally from Kailash Nagar, Guwahati, Assam, had checked into the apartment with a man named Aarav Hanoy on 23 November. Authorities suspect that Aarav fatally stabbed Maya in the chest on the following day, 24 November.
The accused, Aarav Hanoy, a 21-year-old from Kannur, Kerala, allegedly stayed in the apartment with Maya’s body until the morning of 26 November, when he fled the scene. Police are currently on the lookout for Aarav, who remains at large, and have launched a manhunt to apprehend him.
According to a press release from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) East, Maya and Aarav had checked into The Royal Living service apartment in Indiranagar at 12:28 pm on 23 November. Aarav reportedly left the premises at 8:19 am on 26 November, the morning after the murder.
The suspect, identified as a student counselor working at Lips Caller Overseas in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, is believed to have fled after committing the crime. Police are actively investigating the case and have called on the public to provide any information that could lead to his capture.
