A wheelchair-accessible toilet was inaugurated at Lalbagh Botanical Garden by Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya on Saturday, 26 July. Built by NGO Ramp My City with support from the Australian Consulate, the facility aims to enhance accessibility for differently-abled visitors.
The Horticulture Department provided the location, identified by the MP’s office. This initiative follows similar accessibility upgrades at over 15 government offices and a gig worker-friendly rest point.
Calling it a “small but powerful step,” Surya emphasised inclusive public infrastructure. The event saw participation from Australian diplomats and Ramp My City founder Prateek Khandelwal. The facility will benefit hundreds weekly.
