Viral video of Bengaluru woman getting tattoo of husband’s name on her forehead has a major twist!

It is a clip that has, over some time, gained 12.5 million views and has over 260K likes and comments on Instagram.

It shows a Bengaluru woman getting her husband’s name tattooed on her forehead, and has been going viral for some time.

Netizens are divided over the video, and have expressed concerns over this over-the-top romantic gesture.

However, there is more to this story, as South First found out after contacting the parties involved!

The video and the reaction

The woman in the video is seen getting her husband’s name, “Satish”, tattooed on her forehead while sitting on a chair.

Before settling on the final font size, the tattoo artist draws the name on a sheet of paper and then pastes it on the woman’s forehead.

Soon after, the tattoo artist begins applying ink to the woman’s brow with his tattoo machine.

As soon as the expert starts the process, she appears to be in discomfort and even attempts to stop the artist with her hand motions.

King Maker Tattoo Studio in Bengaluru posted the now-viral video on 18 March with the caption “True Love”.

The clip abruptly ends without showing the final output, and the studio has not posted any update on the session since then.

The clip amassed a lot of hate reactions from social media users.

One user wrote, “This means nothing but stupidity. True love doesn’t require to be proved, it should be felt by your care, affection, priority, being there no matter what, supporting, uplifting, understanding.”

“It’s all their wish and their life… don’t judge them although ur getting a lot of negative comments don’t care about it…,” wrote another.

The twist in the tail

Watching the clip, we at South First were left with many questions and felt the need to ascertain the authenticity of the video. Hence, we decided to get to the bottom of it.

We reached out to the tattoo studio and got in touch with the couple that runs the studio.

Satish and Raksha run King Maker Tattoo Studio together in JP Nagar in Bengaluru, and are also the couple featured in the now-viral clip.

Speaking to South First, Raksha offered their side of the story about the video.

“We did not expect the video to go viral and gain so many views,” she said. And then came the twist in the tail!

“The contents of the video are fake. I did not get my husband’s name tattooed on my forehead. It was just for content and not real,” clarified Raksha.

“We received many negative comments on the video when it went viral in March. Now, it has once again gone viral and the comments have started again,” she added.

Asked if the video gained them any customers or queries about their studio, Raksha replied, “The video garnered much attention from the northern belt of India and the Hindi-speaking crowd. However, it did not help us increase our follower count on Instagram, let alone increase any walk-in customers in our studio.”

This clarification should offer some respite to the netizens who were left frothing at the mouth over the video.

It’s also a crucial lesson for people to not believe and fall for everything they see on the internet.
