In a heartbreaking incident in the Davanagere district of Karnataka on the night of Friday, 28 July, two students of the same government college allegedly ended their lives after an intimate video of them went viral on social media.

The tragic events unfolded when the video, taken two months earlier by someone in a nearby building and showing the students’ private moments on the college terrace, suddenly emerged on various social media platforms on Friday.

According to Davanagere Rural Police: “Both youngsters were students at the Government Degree College in the city. They were in a relationship for the last two years.”

The cops added: “The deceased students hailed from the same village. The duo took the extreme step after their private video went viral on social networking sites on Friday.”
