Kusumavathi, mother of Sowjanya who was allegedly raped and murdered in 2012, has filed a complaint with the SIT office in Belthangady on Thursday, 28 August, demanding the case be re-opened for further investigation.
In her complaint, she alleged that the masked man, the Dharmasthala case complainant, knew of the crimes committed against Sowjanya, yet he did not mention the matter in his written complaint.
She also referred to a media interview of the masked man, where he allegedly explained how a person named Ravi Poojary had told him the names of those responsible for Sowjanya’s rape and murder.
“Another point that he made in his interview is that he himself had buried several bodies in the same pit where Sowjanya’s body was found. His statement suggests that there was a possibility that a conspiracy was underway to bury Sowjanya’s body there as well,” the mother wrote in the complaint.
She urged authorities to subject the masked man to a narco test.
