Synopsis: The women were reportedly returning to their village, Rajgera, in Bidar after working as agricultural labourers in the area. Reports said the accident occurred when the autorickshaw took a U-turn.
Five women farm labourers were among six killed after a speeding tanker collided with the autorickshaw they were travelling in near Satwar village in Zaheerabad mandal, Sangareddy district, on the night of Tuesday, 11 August.
Six others were injured in the accident. Police said 11 women from Karnataka’s Bidar district were in the autorickshaw when the tanker smashed into it around 8 pm on National Highway 65.
The autorickshaw driver, Devadas, and the five women were killed instantly, police said, adding that the injured women were shifted to a nearby hospital.
The deceased women have been identified as Rekha, Sridevi, Kavita, Reshma and Nikita. Nirmala, Tuljamma, Chandrakala, Radhika, Shilpa and Shoba were undergoing treatment.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed grief over the incident and conveyed condolences to the bereaved families. He also directed officials to ensure the injured received advanced medical care without delay.
