In a major digital leap, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday launched a first-of-its-kind DigiLocker-based technology for the registration of nurses in Karnataka.
Developed by the Karnataka State Nursing Council, this innovative system is the first in the country to use Aadhaar-based e-KYC to streamline the registration process.
Unveiling the platform at the Vidhana Soudha Banquet Hall in the presence of a large student gathering, the Chief Minister noted that the initiative will eliminate the need for nursing candidates from various districts to travel to Bengaluru for registration.
“With this, Karnataka leads the nation in integrating technology with healthcare governance,” Siddaramaiah said.
The system, developed in collaboration with UIDAI, C-eG, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), and the Karnataka State Nursing Examination Board, enables the Council to retrieve personal data, photographs, and academic records directly from official databases.
Certificates and registration documents will be issued through DigiLocker using Issuer-Requester architecture.
