Raid on rave party in Bengaluru

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru police raided a farmhouse on the outskirts of the city where a rave party was going on and seized ‘Ecstacy’ pills, cocaine and other drugs, sources said on Monday, 20 May.

Acting on a tip-off, the raid was carried out at a farmhouse near Electronic City in the wee hours of Sunday and is still in progress, according to sources in the CCB.

“The CCB conducted a raid on a farmhouse, where a rave party was underway till late at night. There were confusions about the jurisdictions whether it falls under Bengaluru Rural or Bengaluru City limits. As it was on the border area, the Bengaluru Central Crime Branch has conducted a raid and is investigating the case,” said police sources.

“In this rave party, most of them were from Hyderabad and there are very few locals,” claimed police.

The event conducted between 5 pm (18 May) and 6 am (19 May) was said to be a birthday party organised by a Hyderabad-based individual named Vasu.

The party was estimated to cost ₹50 lakh a day, sources said.

Police confirmed the presence of a vehicle with the MLA pass of Andhra Pradesh Minister K Govardhan Reddy and said that the minister or his men were not present at the party.
