In the wake of the recent Rameshwara Cafe bomb blast incident, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has issued clear directives to senior police officers, urging a thorough investigation while harnessing the possibilities of technology.

In a high-profile meeting with top officials from the Home Department, the Chief Minister stressed the imperative need for the complete truth to emerge surrounding the tragic event.

Discussions at high-level meeting 

Siddaramaiah emphasised the importance of proactive measures, stating that the police should not be merely reactive to incidents but maintain constant vigilance. He instructed officials to enhance patrolling in densely populated areas, identifying potential hotspots to ensure the safety and protection of the citizens.

In a stern warning, Siddaramaiah called for strict action against those disseminating false information on social media platforms, stressing the importance of curbing the spread of fake news. He urged intelligence agencies to maintain heightened vigilance and act without sympathy towards anti-social elements.

The Chief Minister announced plans for a separate meeting with the police department to address these concerns, emphasising the necessity of adapting to the rapidly changing times and working at an accelerated pace. We have to change with the times. Work at a faster pace, Siddaramaiah said.

The high-profile meeting was attended by key officials in the government, including Home Minister G Parameshwara, IT & BT Minister Priyank Kharge, Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Naseer Ahmed, Chief Minister’s Deputy Chief Secretary LK Ateeq, Secretary Dr Trilok Chandra, Home Department Additional Chief Secretary SR Umashankar, Director General of Police Alok Mohan, and Commissioner of Police B Dayananda.
