In the complaint, the woman said Congress MLA Iqbal Hussain was like a father to her but a video call clip was being misused to defame her.

A purported private video of Congress MLA from Ramanagara Iqbal Hussain with a female party worker has been leaked, leading to the party worker filing a complaint with the Cyber Economic and Narcotics (CEN) PS in Ramanagara.
The leaked video comes on the heels of Hassan’s incumbent MP Prajwal Revanna’s sexual abuse case.
The 29-second video of the MLA shared on social media is reportedly a video call between the local woman party worker and him.
As the video went viral, the woman party worker filed a complaint with the CEN police station on Tuesday, 30 April, against the unknown miscreants for defaming her image. She demanded legal action against the miscreants.
According to police: “The Congress party worker, who is reportedly seen in the video call with the MLA, has filed a complaint against the unknown miscreants.”
“We have kick-started a probe on the matter. We have not yet arrested or taken anyone into custody on the matter. Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered,” added the police.
In the complaint, the victim claimed that the relationship between MLA Iqbal Hussain and her is like father and daughter. The video call with the MLA has been misused.
“This video has gone viral from the Facebook account of Thimmanagowda Gundalkar. The video call has been edited. I request to take legal action against the miscreants,” demanded the victim.
Karnataka State Commission for Women Dr Nagalakshmi Chowdry told South First: “ I am aware of this incident as well. The victim has already filed the complaint. An FIR has also been registered. We will raise this issue as well. We will continue to fight against the atrocities on women.”
“Even the identities of the women are being disclosed by the miscreants, which is likely to affect the victims’ family. We will also communicate with the local police on the matter,” added Dr Nagalakshmi.
Prajwal Revanna, grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda is accused of sexually abusing and exploiting multiple women. After purported videos showing him and the victims went viral in Hassan, he has reportedly ‘fled’ the country.
The videos have been doing the rounds in Hassan since a couple of days ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka on 26 April.
The complaint against Prajwal was filed by a 47-year-old woman who worked at the residence of Revanna. An FIR has been filed against Prajwal and his father MLA Revanna.
In her complaint, registered at the Holenarasipura Police Station, the survivor named both father and son, alleging sexual harassment and abuse by them.
Police have registered a case under Sections 354A, 354D, 506, and 509 of the IPC based on the complaint.
