Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the yellow line of Bengaluru’s Namma Metro on 10 August. Passenger operations on the 19.5 km line will begin the next morning, on 11 August.
The much-delayed yellow line received the statutory safety clearance on Friday, 1 August.
Modi will also lay the foundation stone for Metro Phase 3, also known as the orange line, at a cost of ₹15,611 crore on 10 August, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, announced in a post on X.
The yellow and orange lines together will benefit nearly 25 lakh people in Bengaluru South, MP Tejasvi Surya said in a post on X on Sunday, 3 August.
