Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh has issued a stern warning to police personnel who delay or deny filing FIRs, stating such practices are unacceptable.

Addressing the media at Bangalore Press Club, he said FIRs must be registered without fail, regardless of the inspector’s presence.

He added that decoy checks are regularly conducted to monitor station conduct. Singh prioritised people-friendly and basic policing, with special focus on women and child safety, cybercrime awareness, and improved traffic management.

Acknowledging Bengaluru’s growing traffic woes, he highlighted coordination with civic agencies and instructed law and order police to assist traffic personnel during peak hours.

With over 1.3 crore registered vehicles, Singh clarified that traffic police should stop vehicles only for visible violations and not unnecessarily check documents. He stressed that document checks for out-of-state vehicles fall under the jurisdiction of the Transport Department, and harassment will not be tolerated.
