Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah
Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday, 4 September, made the following decisions.
Regarding the MUDA scandal, allegations had been raised against the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family, prompting the formation of a commission led by P.N. Desai.
The commission’s report, which was submitted across two different Cabinets, has now been accepted by the state government. The report gives a clean chit to the Chief Minister and his family, clearing them of any wrongdoing.
Additionally, the commission made several recommendations, and the government has issued instructions for their implementation.
Regarding BBMP irregularities, an inquiry was conducted into irregularities in works carried out between 2019 and 2023, with a particular focus on the Nagaroththana scheme and the misuse of grants. The investigation commission, headed by Justice Nagamohan Das, has submitted its report to the government. The Cabinet has resolved to study the findings of the report carefully and take the necessary action based on its recommendations.
Meanwhile, the cabinet also discussed the Bengaluru Metro Expansion (Phase 3), the government has approved the expansion of the Metro network from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Hebbal and from Hosa Halli–Magadi Road to Kadabagere. The project covers a total distance of 37 kilometers and includes the development of a Metro viaduct along with an elevated road. The estimated cost of the project is ₹9,700 crore.

Meanwhile, in Nutrition Program Expansion, Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust’s Ragi Health Mix is expected to be distributed in government and aided schools. Currently given three days a week; Cabinet approved expansion to five days a week, to be served mixed with hot milk.
