Minor girl found dead

Synopsis: A 15-year-old differently-abled girl from the Hakki Pikki community was found dead near a railway track in Bidadi, Ramanagara, on May 12. She went missing after attending a birthday party. Police suspect foul play and have registered a murder case. The girl’s body was sent for post-mortem. Deputy CM DK Shivakumar has promised compensation and strict action.

A 15-year- old differently abled girl belonging to the Hakki Pikki community was found dead with grevious injuries near a railway track on the outskirts of Bidadi, near Hakki Pikki colony in Ramanagara district on Monday, 12 May.

According to Bidadi police, the girl was speech and hearing impaired.  The girl, studying in eight standard at a residential school was home for summer holidays. She was being raised by a single mother, along with her three siblings.

The incident happened when she went with other children for birthday celebration and went missing later. The child’s mother and relatives filed a missing person complaint with the police.

However, villagers found a body near a railway track. After which the relatives identified the body and informed the police. It was sent for post mortem and a case of murder has been registered in the Bidadi police station.

Srinivas Gowda, Superintendent of Police in Ramanagara said, “We have sent the body for post mortem yesterday itself. The reports will be given to us today. The investigation is on and we are interrogating people she met during birthday celebration.”

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar met the family, and has announced to provide compensation of ₹4.12 lakh by district administration.

He further added, “Strict action would be taken against the accused and they will be tracked down soon.”
