Lokayukta conducted raids in Tumakuru, Mandya, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Koppal, Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, Ballari, Vijayanagara, and Mangaluru.
Armed with information regarding disproportionate assets, Lokayukta officials in Karnataka, on Wednesday, 31 January, conducted raids at more than 41 locations spread across 10 districts in the state, including Mysuru and Mangaluru.
The raids were carried out in various districts barring Bengaluru, Lokayukta Inspector General of Police Dr A Subramanyeswara Rao told PTI.
Lokayukta conducted the raids based on 10 cases they had registered at Tumakuru, Mandya, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Koppal, Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, Ballari, Vijayanagara, and Mangaluru.
The raids were conducted on government officials against whom corruption allegations and complaints came before the Lokayukta.
They were identified as:
Searches were conducted in six places against Hanumantharayappa and immovable assets worth ₹2,30,00,000 and movable assets worth ₹25,30,000 were found.
The Lokayktha conducted searches in six places associated with him. During the searches, immovable assets valued ₹1,68,19,000 and movable assets, including cash, ornaments, vehicles, household articles and others worth ₹2,82,00,336 were found.
During the searches in 2 places, immovable assets valued ₹1,18,50,000 and movable assets, including cash, ornaments, vehicles, household articles and others worth ₹77,98,000 were found.
Lokayukta officials carried out raids at the food inspector’s house and office in Hassan. They also searched the house of the food inspector’s brother, who is a realtor.
Immovable assets valued ₹1,68,83,000 and movable assets, including cash, ornaments, vehicles and others worth ₹21,47,000 were found.
Searches were conducted in five places which found immovable assets valued ₹1,91,48,000 and movable assets, including cash, ornaments, vehicles and others worth ₹86,17,265.
Five places linked to Ravi were searched and immovable assets valued ₹1,78,60,000 and movable assets, including cash, ornaments, vehicles and others worth ₹28,86,460 were found.
During the searches, immovable assets valued ₹66,00,000 and movable assets, including cash, ornaments, vehicles, household articles and others worth ₹40,12,900 were found.
During the searches, immovable assets valued ₹1,57,10,000 and movable assets, including cash, ornaments, vehicles, household articles and others worth ₹59,02,400 were found. Three places inked to the assistant professor were searched.
The searches in five places found movable assets worth ₹1,40,35,000 and immovable assets worth ₹34,49,796.
Raids were conducted against the MESCOM executive engineer in Mandya, who has a house in Vidyaranyapura in Bengaluru and a farmhouse in Nagamangala. The Lokayukta sleuths raided the house of the executive engineer’s father-in-law, who is a powerful leader in the ruling Congress in Nagamangala.
During the searches, immovable assets valued ₹1,27,80,000 and movable assets, including cash, ornaments, vehicles, household articles and others worth ₹1,16,61,280 were found.
