Chandrashekhar Guruji stabbed to death in a private Hubballi hotel

Two unidentified individuals in full public view stabbed a Saral Vastu exponent to death in a hotel lobby near Unkal Lake in Karnataka’s Hubballi district on Tuesday, 5 July.

The police have identified the deceased as Chandrashekhar Angadi alias Chandrashekar Guruji from the Bagalkot district of the state.

A few hours after the incident, CCTV footage of Andadi’s murder surfaced on the internet.

Gruesome video

The video shows two men — apparently posing as Angadi’s devotees — waiting for him in the reception area of the hotel.

As he settled down in a chair, one of the murderers touched his feet to seek blessings, while the other stabbed him multiple times with a knife.

The footage further shows that a few people in the hotel lobby tried to stop the assailants but the duo managed to escape.

According to the police, the victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

“Angadi was stabbed multiple times in the chest and abdomen. He died due to excessive blood loss and fatal internal injuries caused due to the stabbing,” a police officer investigating the incident told reporters.

Special team formed

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime and Traffic Gopal Byakod told South First, “A special investigation team has been formed to nab the criminals. A forensic team has been rushed to the spot to collect evidence and a dog squad has also been engaged.”

A senior police official from Hubbali said: “The CCTV footage gives the impression that the killers had an appointment with Angadi. The motive behind the murder will only be clear once we nab the duo.”

A relative of Angadi told the reporters that after completing BE in Civil Engineering in 1985 from the Basaveshwar Engineering College, he started working as a contractor.

“He learnt Vastu and architecture from Singapore. Angadi also featured in several TV shows, giving Vastu tips,” added the relative.
