Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar has lashed out at the central government for delaying the establishment of an AIIMS hospital in Raichur, accusing it of showing a “stepmotherly attitude” towards the state.
Speaking in Delhi, Shivakumar noted that the proposal for AIIMS in Raichur had been pending for decades, with the state government offering full cooperation, including providing land.
He criticised the Centre for not cooperating with Karnataka despite the state government’s support, including improving infrastructure like national and state highways to facilitate the establishment of AIIMS.
Shivakumar reiterated the state’s commitment to pushing for the hospital’s establishment and vowed to continue fighting for its realisation, alongside Karnataka’s MPs.
Rajendra Rajanna, son of State Cooperation Minister K N Rajanna, has filed a complaint with the Karnataka DGP regarding a murder attempt against him in November 2024.
The MLC revealed the shocking details of the plot, stating that the attempt to kill him occurred during his daughter’s birthday celebration.
Rajanna claims that an amount of ₹5 lakh was deposited to individuals involved in the plot. He further revealed that the CID is investigating a separate honey trap attempt on his father, which was also being probed by police officials.
Despite no CCTV footage being available, Rajanna remains confident in identifying those responsible. The investigation continues.
