Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara stated that Karnataka Police could gain national recognition if the door-to-door policing initiative is effectively implemented. Speaking during the second day of the Annual Conference of Senior Police Officers at the State Police Headquarters, he said the initiative would help prevent crimes by providing officers direct insight into community issues. He urged the police force to adopt modern technologies, analyse data, and undergo regular training.

Stressing citizen-friendly service, he advised officers not to make complainants run from pillar to post. He also emphasized the need to be proactive in tackling communal tensions during festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Muharram. Highlighting the low conviction rate in atrocity cases against SCs, STs, women, and children, he mentioned that 33 Civil Rights Enforcement police stations have been established statewide. On the drug menace, he called for stronger ownership by officers, insisting that drug networks can be dismantled with focused effort.
