Infosys Foundation, the CSR arm of Infosys, has announced a grant of over ₹48 crore to enhance maternal and child healthcare infrastructure in rural Karnataka. The Foundation has partnered with the UN-recognised Prashanthi Balamandira Trust to support Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Hospital, affiliated with the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR).

The grant will help deliver free healthcare services to underprivileged women, infants, and children. It will fund advanced medical equipment for obstetrics, gynecology, NICU, PICU, ICU, radiology, and operation theatres, along with partial support for operational costs. The initiative is expected to benefit over 8,000 individuals annually. Additionally, the teaching hospital will use the upgraded facilities for training undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, nurses, and allied health professionals.
