Infosys co-founder Senapathy ‘Kris’ Gopalakrishnan is in the eye of a storm after being booked under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act.
Indian Institute of Science (IISc)’s former Director, Balaram, and 16 others have also been charged under the same Act.
The case was registered at the Sadashiva Nagar police station on the directions of the 71st City Civil and Sessions Court (CCH).
The complainant, Durgappa, is a former IISc employee belonging to the tribal Bovi community. He alleged that he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case and dismissed from service.
Durgappa was a faculty member at the Centre for Sustainable Technology at the IISc. In 2014, he claimed he was falsely implicated in the honey trap case and was later dismissed from service.
Kris Gopalakrishnan is a member of the IISc’s Board of Trustees.
Durgappa also alleged he was subjected to casteist abuse and threats.
Other accused in the case are Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, Hari KVS, Dasappa, Balaram P Hemalata Mhishi, Chattopadyaya K, Pradeep D Sawkar, and Manoharan.
