A family travelling in a Maruti Suzuki Alto was allegedly attacked by a group of men on the Maddur stretch of the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway, on Sunday, 5 July, with the entire incident captured on video that has gone viral.
The footage shows the family’s car being intercepted before several men surround the vehicle, force open the driver’s door and repeatedly assault the driver in full public view.

A woman from the family is seen stepping out and pleading with the mob to stop, while a passerby also attempts to intervene.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear. The video has triggered widespread outrage on social media, raising fresh concerns over commuter safety on the expressway.
The police have launched an investigation but are yet to issue an official statement on the motive, identify the accused or confirm any arrests.
