In a terrifying incident, Bengaluru-based Aeronics Internet Private Limited’s top officers were reportedly hacked to death by the firm’s former employee in the evening hours in the northeastern part of the city on Tuesday, 11 July.
The deceased have been identified as Aeonic Internet Pvt Ltd’s Managing Director (MD) Phanindra Subramanya and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vinu Kumar.
The incident occurred at a residence on the 6th Cross of Pampa Extension in the Amruthahalli area of Bengaluru City.
Aeronics Internet Pvt Ltd is an internet service provider (ISP) company in Bengaluru.
According to the police, the accused, named Joker Felix was a former employee of Aeronics and was on the run after the incident.
Two other people — said to be his conspirators — were also on the loose, they added.
“The accused and deceased all worked together in this six-month-old ISP. Felix reportedly barged into the office and attacked the duo with a sharp object. The duo succumbed at the spot. The mortal remains have been sent for autopsy,” said the police.
One of the eyewitnesses registered a complaint at the Amruthahalli Police Station, said the police.
Bengaluru North East DCP Laxmi Prasad visited the incident spot and confirmed the double murder to the media. The police have formed four different teams to investigate the double murder.
Prasad told reporters: “Two people have been murdered. The deceased are the CEO and MD of Aeronics Internet Company.”
He added: “Prima facie, three perpetrators were involved in this murder. They used sharp objects to murder them. We got leads about one of the accused. We are trying to find out the other two accused.”
DCP Prasad also said that the police are yet to ascertain the identity of the two other accused.
The top cop also said: “We cannot reveal the details of the accused at the moment, but we found out that they know each other. The incident happened at around 4-4.30 pm.”
He added: “This internet company was started six-seven months ago. We cannot say anything about the motive right now. Once we nab the accused and question them, we will know the motive.”
