Officials of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) are searching multiple premises linked to Karnataka PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi on Wednesday, 9 September.

The premises being searched include the minister’s residence in Dollars Colony, government quarters in Bengaluru, and locations in Belagavi. Reports said at least 18 locations are being inspected, including the premises of the minister’s daughter and Chikkodi MP Priyanka Jarkiholi.

The searches are understood to be part of the ED’s ongoing money-laundering probe into alleged corruption in Karnataka’s Excise Department.

The investigation had earlier focused on Additional Excise Commissioner Y Manjunath, Jarkiholi’s brother-in-law, and other Excise officials over allegations of illegal gratification linked to the issuance, renewal and transfer of liquor licences.
