Synopsis: The mining baron BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy alleged that Senthil is the “director and scriptwriter” for the formation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the Dharmasthala case. Reddy also called the Congress leader “mastermind” behind the lobby to defame Dharmasthala.
Congress MP Sasikanth Senthil has filed a private complaint before the court against Gangavathi MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy for dragging his name into the Dharmasthala mass burial case.
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru, Senthil said he was wrongly portrayed as the “scriptwriter and mastermind” behind the ongoing SIT probe.
“I chose not to respond initially dismissing his (Reddy’s) remarks as childish allegations, while I was occupied with Parliament sessions,” Senthil said.
Senthil added, “however now, one story after another is being spun against me in connection with the Dharmasthala case, prompting me to legally challenge the claims.”
Recalling his clean track record as an IAS officer in Karnataka, Senthil mocked Reddy, alleging that the MLA looted the state’s resources and tarnished Karnataka’s image nationally.
He said that he has filed a plaint before the court seeking clarification on basis which Reddy is dragging his name into the much-controversial Dharmasthala case.
The mining baron BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy alleged that Senthil is the “director and scriptwriter” for the formation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the Dharmasthala case. Reddy also called the Congress leader “mastermind” behind the lobby to defame the popular Dakshin Kannada temple town Dharmasthala.
To this, Senthil responded by saying that Reddy is playing “vendetta politics” against him since the Congress MP was posted as assistant commissioner of Ballari (as a former IAS officer) and the BJP leader’s name had surfaced over illegal mining. “I had provided evidence against him to the CBI,” Senthil said.
