Congress’ DK Suresh declares ₹593 crore assets, JDS’ Prajwal Revanna declares ₹40.85 crore

While DK Suresh had a 75 percent increase of assets in the last five years, Prajwal Revanna's assets increased four fold.

Karnataka MP cadidates assets

Congress MP from Bangalore Rural DK Suresh has assets valued at ₹593 crore, a 75 percent increase in the last five years.

Suresh, the younger brother of Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress chief DK Shivakumar, had declared assets of ₹339 crore before the 2019 general elections.

A three-time MP who is seeking re-election from Bangalore Rural has ₹16.61 crore in banks as deposits, according to an affidavit he submitted along with the nomination filed on Thursday, 28 March.

The 57-year-old MP has agriculture land at 21 locations worth ₹32.76 crore, non-agriculture land at 27 places worth ₹210.47 crore, nine commercial buildings worth ₹211.91 crore and three residential buildings worth ₹27.13 crore.

He has liabilities of ₹150.06 crore and liabilities under dispute’ of ₹57.27 crore.

Contesting against Suresh is the BJP-JD(S) candidate Dr CN Manjunath.

The noted cardiac surgeon Dr CN Manjunath, is the son-in-law of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and brother-in-law of former Chief Minister and state JD(S) President HD Kumaraswamy, in Bangalore Rural.

Manjunath, who is contesting on BJP symbol, had headed the state-owned Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research for 17 years before retiring in January this year.

Revanna assets stand at ₹40 crore

Prajwal Revanna, the lone JD(S) MP in Karnataka who has been renominated from Hassan Lok Sabha seat, has declared assets worth ₹40.85 crore, which is a four-fold increase from 2019, according to his election affidavit.

The 34-year-old sitting MP has movable assets worth ₹5.45 crore including deposits, investments, loans given to others and jewellery. He also has immovable assets worth ₹35.84 crore, as per the affidavit.

In 2019 general elections, he declared his total assets valued at ₹9.78 crore.

Prajwal, who is the grandson of former PM Deve Gowda, has a liability of ₹4.49 crore and government dues of ₹3.04 crore.

Prajwal had defeated BJP’s A Manju in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls with a margin of over 1.40 lakh votes.

This time, the Congress has fielded 31-year-old Shreyas M Patel, the grandson of former Minister late G Puttaswamy Gowda.
