Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called upon police officers to intensify efforts to reduce the crime rate in Karnataka, assuring that the government is ready to provide all necessary resources to strengthen the force. Speaking after inaugurating the KSRP community hall near Silk Board Junction in Koramangala, he emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order, especially in light of rising violence, hate speeches, and communal tensions. He urged officers to serve with honesty and integrity, stating that the safety of citizens and a secure environment are vital for the state’s development and investor confidence.
The CM noted a drop in the crime rate in 2024 compared to 2023 but stressed the need for continued vigilance. He also highlighted the recent increase in the police medical examination allowance to ₹1,500, with a possibility of further revision. Additionally, Siddaramaiah inaugurated the Karnataka Academy of Prisons and Correctional Services, 128 staff quarters, and laid the foundation for an annex building near Freedom Park.
