Veteran BJP leader BS Yediyurappa’s son and MP BY Raghavendra has declared in his election affidavit that he and his wife have assets worth over ₹73.71 crore.

The BJP candidate filed his nomination from the Shimoga Lok Sabha segment on Thursday, 18 April, and has declared movable assets worth ₹31.09 crore in his name, and ₹2.95 crore in the name of his wife Tejaswini.

The three-time MP has immovable assets, including agricultural and non-agricultural land as well as commercial and residential buildings, worth ₹24.76 crore in his name and ₹14.90 crore in his wife’s name.

The couple has total liabilities of ₹13.61 crore.

A Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) graduate, the 50-year-old has two criminal cases pending against him.

According to his affidavit, Raghavendra owns an Ambassador car worth ₹ one lakh, a Toyota Fortuner worth ₹41.32 lakh, and a tractor worth ₹2.45 lakh.

While Raghavendra has declared that gold, diamonds, silver and precious stones in his possession are worth ₹98.83 lakh, those in the name of his wife are valued at ₹1.13 crore.

Dingaleshwar Swami’s assets

Fakira Dingaleshwar Swami of Shirahatti Fakkireshwar Math, who is contesting the Lok Sabha polls, has declared assets worth over ₹9.74 crore.

In an affidavit while filing nomination as an independent candidate from Dharwad Lok Sabha segment on Thursday, the prominent Veerashaiva Lingayat seer has declared movable assets worth ₹1.22 crore.

The immovable assets that he has, including agriculture and non-agriculture land and school building, are worth ₹8.52 crore.

He has total liabilities to the tune of ₹39.68 lakh.

The 48-year-old, who has failed in SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate or class 10), has three cases pending against him.

The seer has two Toyota Innova, a tractor and a school bus in his name. He also has 7.82 kg of silver worth ₹4.35 lakh, and 18.9 gram gold worth ₹1.17 lakh.

Dingaleshwar Swami is taking on BJP MP and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.

He has accused Joshi of “suppressing” Veerashaiva-Lingayat and other communities, and also misusing the Lingayat maths and causing disrespect to them to stay in power.
