The ‘Book Brahma Literature Festival-2024’, the largest Indian language literature festival, is set to take place from 9 August to 11 August in Bengaluru.

Senior writers Dr Mallepuram G Venkatesh, Dr Narahalli Balasubramanya, and Festival Director Satish Chapparike were present during the ceremony.

The literature festival, to be conducted in partnership with around 40 firms, will have South First as its digital media partner.

Dr Narahalli said, “Book Brahma Literature Festival is very relevant and necessary if we take into account the present time and cultural conditions. The contribution of Kannada – Tamil – Malayalam – Telugu languages to world literature is immense. The purpose of this festival is to bring all the four historically important languages on one platform and facilitate mutual interaction.”

He added that such a huge effort to unite all four languages has never been done anywhere in India.

“Along with the writers, South Indian publishers will also come together here. Representatives of the University of Chicago in America will hold a round table meeting with South Indian publishers. The University of Chicago has created a special department called SALT for identifying important literary works in Indian languages and taking them into English,” he said.
