Bengaluru blast in Rameshwaram cafe

Following the blast in Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru on Friday, 1 March, which injured at least nine people, the BJP slammed the Congress government in Karnataka over “deteriorating law and order” in the state.

BJP leaders including Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekar, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly R Ashoka and party’s Karnataka President BY Vijayendra drew parallels between the blast and claims of “pro-Pakistan” slogans in the Vidhan Soudha earlier this week.

BY Vijayendra demanded a detailed inquiry into the incident.

“Deeply troubled to hear about the blast at Rameswaram Cafe in Bangalore. Praying for a swift recovery of all the injured in the incident. State govt should order a detailed enquiry & spare no efforts in apprehending the perpetrators,” he wrote on X.

“Callousness of the State govt in downplaying such crimes under the guise of minority “Brotherhood” policies is pushing the state into this chaos & proving to be a safe haven for antisocial elements. Failure of police intelligence is also evident in this incident. We strongly urge the police to conduct a thorough probe & eradicate these elements from the core without yielding to any political pressures,” he added.

He further connected the sloganeering in the Vidhan Soudha also to the blast.

“Murder, extortion, hooliganism, violence against women continue to be reported in serial form, the country’s powerhouses are shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans inside the legislative building. Now they have entered a crowded hotel and exploded a bomb, injuring innocent people and creating an atmosphere of extreme anxiety,” he wrote

“I hope and pray this is an accidental blast and pray injured all recover soonest. Under Rahuls Cong @siddaramaiah, residents of Bengaluru/Karnataka are hvng to deal wth one crisis after another – water shortages, no electricity, farmers distress , no development, unkept guarantees , full on corruption – but plenty of love for #Pakistan slogans amongst Congies,” wrote Chandrashekar on X.

‘Law and order deteriorated’

Ashoka claimed that the law and order situation in the state has been deteriorating ever since Siddaramaiah took charge as the chief minister.

“The bomb blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru is yet another glaring example of the deteriorating law and order situation in Karnataka ever since CM @siddaramaiah led @INCKarnataka Govt came to power in the state,” he wrote on X.

“Wherever the Congress comes to power, the terrorists and anti-national elements feel emboldened because of its policy of unabashed and unbridled appeasement. The Congress govt should first ensure ‘guarantee’ of safety and security to the people of Karnataka,” he added.

Former state minister CT Ravi claimed that terrorists became active in the state ever since the Congress assumed power.

“Jihadis and Terrorists become active whenever CONgress comes to power! It is unfortunate that Suvarna Karnataka has been reduced to absolute chaos in just 9 months of CONgress rule,” he wrote on X
