Police, Uber respond

Bhaskar Rao, former Bengaluru city police commissioner tagged the city police requesting them to take action.

Responding to the same, the Bengaluru police informed that, “We have tried reaching out to the complainant, but she is not willing to share the location of the incident or other details at this stage. She mentioned that she has already filed a complaint through the Uber app, and Uber has assured her that appropriate action will be taken to resolve the matter. She also stated that she will not hesitate to visit the concerned police station for further assistance. @Nimmabhaskar22”

In another video, the complainant said that she posted that video to get Uber’s attention about this issue. “… I trust that Uber will pay attention to this issue. Even though public transport is cheaper, we choose these services and pay extra for our safety. Then if we aren’t getting that safety, what’s the point?,” she asked.

Referring to Bengaluru city police, she said, “Even though I hadn’t filed any complaint, they reached out to me. The reason I didn’t file a complaint is that my goal was to bring this issue to Uber’s attention. I didn’t want that particular person to go to jail or be harassed by the public.”

Uber responded to her post stating, “Hi Amiee, we are concerned to see this and would like to investigate. We’ve sent you a message requesting additional details, please check your direct messages so we can look into this.”
