Police said the explosives were found three kilometres away from the main venue of PM Modi's programme.
Synopsis: The gelatin sticks were found even as Delhi has been on a high alert following specific intelligence inputs that cross-border terror groups might target high-value assets in the national capital.
A security alert was triggered in Bengaluru after two gelatin sticks were found near a route Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to take on Sunday, 10 May.
One person has been detained for questioning after the explosives were found near Tatagunj in Kaggalipura police limits, ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to the Art of Living International Centre.
“On Sunday morning, before PMs arrival, during the checking two gelatine sticks were found on the side of a footpath, nearly 3 kms away from the main venue where PM Modi was scheduled to arrive,” a police statement said.
According to reports, the man was picked up from a house is Koramangala, after he had telephonically warned authorities early in the morning of possible explosions at the HAL Airport and the Art of Living centre.
The gelatin sticks were found close on the heels of specific intelligence inputs that had warned of possible terror strikes in Delhi.
Intelligence have alerted that Pakistan-based handlers, possibly linked to the ISI-backed Shahzad Bhatti network, were planning to target high-value locations in the national capital.
