Bengaluru Metro announces fifth metro train on Yellow line: To be inducted on 1 November

With the introduction of this fifth train, the frequency of trains on the Yellow Line during peak hours will now be every 15 minutes.

Synopsis: With the introduction of this fifth train, the frequency of trains on the Yellow Line during peak hours will now be every 15 minutes, instead of the present 19-minute interval, BMRCL said in a press release. The line was inaugurated on 10 August, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced that the fifth metro train on the Yellow Line will be inducted into commercial service from 1 November, 2025, on the occasion of the 70th Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations.

With the introduction of this fifth train, the frequency of trains on the Yellow Line during peak hours will now be every 15 minutes, instead of the present 19-minute interval, BMRCL said in a press release.

“This improvement will help provide smoother and more reliable service to commuters with reduced waiting times. This change will be effective on all days. There will be no change in the first and last train timings from either terminal — R.V. Road and Bommasandra. The Press and Media are requested to give wide publicity of this information for the benefit of the public,” the press release said.

The line was inaugurated on 10 August, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The project, worth around ₹7,160 crore, is spread over 96 km and is touted to serve a large population in one of the city’s busiest Information Technology (IT) corridors.
